Fishing Derby and Fun Day

Fishing derby and fun day is held at Heritage Reservation.

September 20, 2014

Prepare yourself for a tremendous outdoor adventure. Open to Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts, Venturers and their parents/guardians. We promise a great weekend at a super price.

Fishing Derby

Do you love to fish? Spend a day on Lake Courage and see if you can catch the lunker bass. We have several prize categories including most fish and most poundage. There are three tournament groups so you are competing against your own age: Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers.

More than seven miles of shoreline fishing and those with a current BSA swim test can use our canoes or rowboats or bring you own boat. There is room for everyone. No gas motors or motorboats allowed. All electric motors must be mountable to the craft.

Come join the fun. The fishing competition runs from Saturday at 6:30 a.m. until 5:50 p.m.

Housing and meals

Programs include Friday and Saturday night camping in one of our conference center homes (private room or dormitory) or in one of our canvas wall tents with cots or bring your own tent. Four meals from Saturday breakfast to Sunday breakfast and snacks Friday and Saturday night are included in your fee.

If you are interested in volunteering on staff for this exciting, fun-filled weekend, please fill out our staff interest form here.
