This is a tremendous opportunity for you and your son to enjoy a fun-filled weekend in the great outdoors when nature provides the beauty of winter. You will stay in our Potomac Homes overlooking Lake Courage. Cafeteria style meals are provided in our dining area at Pathfinder Lodge. Come with your personal gear and enjoy winter with its exciting program features. Choose from several weekends - each of which is open to any Scout!
We are already hard at work on the 2015 Program. Registration will open on November 1, 2014.
The weekend will include cross-country skiing, sledding, Klondike games, broomball, and snow tubing. The camp will provide the equipment. The camp has snow shoes, cross country skis, and sleds. However, please bring any equipment that you may have (no hockey sticks please). Moms enjoy this activity just as much as dads. If there is no snow on the ground, the program will consist of parent/son log sawing, three-man slingshot, Frisbee golf, BBs, archery, and hiking or just enjoying a weekend with your son.
The Winter Weekends will begin with check in at 6 p.m. on Friday. Bring your completed Annual Health and Medical Form parts A & B. Participants will receive a snack at 9 p.m. that evening. Please avoid arriving after 10 p.m. Sessions will conclude on Sunday by 10 a.m..
Per Person: $58 Open Room: $75 Semi-Private Room. The package includes lodging Friday and Saturday night, Friday snack, all meals on Saturday, breakfast Sunday, plus use of camp equipment. Participants stay at the Eagle Base Conference Center, each home includes beds, heat, bathrooms and showers. Each home has bunk-beds and mattresses in three small rooms upstairs and one larger, dormitory-style room downstairs. We suggest that adults may want to sleep on the bottom bunk and youth on the top bunk.
Cancellations less than 2 weeks from the event will not be refunded as food and materials will have been ordered. No-shows and cancellations will not be refunded. Reservations are not 'confirmed' until payment has been processed. Payments must be recieved two weeks prior to the weekend.
Items to Bring
You will need to bring your own linens and personal items. We suggest that you bring the basic necessities; sweaters, warm jackets, flashlight, extra clothes, boots, etc. Dress for the weather. A suggested packing list is provided here. Be sure to bring a completed Annual Health and Medical Form parts A & B for each participant.
You can register and pay online with an electronic check or credit card, or if you prefer, register online and mail in your check. The deadline is two weeks prior to the event. Reservations are not considered 'confirmed' until payment has been processed. Registration will open here Nov 1, 2014.
