Boy Scout Advancement Changes Coming

As many of you have heard, there are changes to all of the Boy Scout rank requirements
coming up for 2016. A side-by-side comparison of the requirements is available at
the New Boy Scout Advancement Requirements page.

The new requirements take effect on January 1st, but 2016 will be a transition period.
The exact details are linked from the bottom of that page. Scouts already working on a rank
can usually finish with the requirements that they started with if they finish before the end of 2016.
Anyone starting a rank after January 1 or finishing after the end of 2017 must use the new requirements.

2017 Lackawanna Recognition

We had a busy year in 2016 between camporees, summer camps, unit events,
Pack meetings, Courts of Honor, district events, and countless other Scouting activities.
Behind each one of these events was a hardworking, dedicated volunteer.

Volunteers are what drives our organization. The Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Chartered Organization
Representatives, Assistant Scoutmasters, Committee Chairpersons, and many more give
countless hours every year to offer Scouting in their communities.

It's time to make sure we're saying "Thank You!" in the best way possible!

This is our chance to recognize all the wonderful volunteers in Lackawanna for their
excellence in their outstanding service to their units and/or to the district.

This year, there are five categories:

Most Valuable Scouter Award
Lackawanna District Award
Veteran Award
District Award of Merit
Silver Beaver

The District Awards Dinner will be at our Program Kickoff this year (May 11th).
The completed awards nomination forms, above, can be emailed to:
