Volunteer for the 2013 National Scout Jamboree
As Scouting alumni, you are probably aware of the excitement that is generated by the national Scout jamboree. If you have been to one as a youth or adult, seeing Scouting's premier event in person probably ranks as one of your Scouting highlights. If you have never been to a jamboree, then the opportunity to participate in the 2013 National Scout Jamboree at the new Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia could be the chance of a lifetime.
The Scouting Alumni Association will be having an exhibit at the 2013 jamboree, where we will be showing off the many accomplishments of former Scouts and giving Scouters and other people involved in the Scouting experience an opportunity to become affiliates of the Scouting Alumni Association. That's not all! We will be providing opportunities for current Scouts to learn about what awaits them after they leave Scouting and to earn a unique patch by participating in a fun and interactive experience.
Our exhibit is sure to be one of the must-see stops for many Scouts and visitors who will participate in the jamboree. To pull off this exhibit, we need several volunteers to serve on the staff. The jamboree is from July 15 to July 24, 2013. Volunteers can sign up for the full two weeks or for just one week of service. We are offering this opportunity to be part of the jamboree staff to current members of the Scouting Alumni Association first.
As a volunteer, you will be able to meet Scouters and Scouts from around the country, see up close the newest BSA high-adventure base, and experience all of the sights and sounds of the national jamboree. While you will staff the exhibit for part of each day, the rest of the day and night can be used to explore the jamboree. The number of staff members we can accommodate is limited, so we need to hear from you soon if you are interested.
Please contact Harry Zimmerman, the chairman of the Scouting Alumni Association national jamboree exhibit, at email@example.com if you are interested in signing up to serve on the staff.
We look forward to having you be part of our team to give the Scouts an experience they will always remember.
